Graduate Research Stipend Competition, 2005-06 (Deadline: Friday May 27)

The New Visions of Nature, Science, and Religion program at UCSB announces the availability of up to six $2500 graduate student research stipends.  Stipends are intended to fund work toward theses and/or publications in the broad area of nature, science, and religion. This $2500 will be disbursed as follows: $1500 upon receipt of award, and $1000 upon filing of thesis or publication of article (no later than June 30, 2007).

To apply, please email New Visions Program Director Jim Proctor (jproctor@geog.ucsb.edu) two items:

  1. A cover letter summarizing your proposed research project, its relevance to nature, science, and/or religion, and a timetable for completion; and
  2. A detailed prospectus or draft of your thesis or publication. 

Deadline for submittal is Friday May 27, 2005.  Winners will be announced by Friday June 10, with initial disbursements available immediately afterward.  For details on the New Visions Program and to gauge potential relevance of your research project, please consult the program website.


2004-05 Graduate Participant Winners Announced
The New Visions Steering Committee is pleased to announce its selection of UC Santa Barbara graduate student participants for 2004-05.
